Instrumental Holiday

This Week —

This holiday season my Elf is asking a lot of very specific questions about Santa, Jesus, “those little candles my friend tells me about”, and “how will Santa come in if we don’t have a chimney??”. It’s been such a trip coming up with answers! We’ve told him that everyone celebrates a little differently which is wonderful and we can learn about any and all traditions he is curious about. I’m looking forward to expanding my own world while following his lead.

Listen To —

In thinking about music to celebrate this season, I wanted to make a playlist that was a festive background to dinnertime or drinking eggnog but also served as a break from the usual songs you listen to all season. This playlist is chock-full of Classical pieces composed for Christmas time that you’ve likely never heard before! They are mellow and silvery and easy on the ear. But wait until you listen to a witty and ingenious take on Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker from jazz greats Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. It’s gonna knock your socks off!

Happy snugglin!
